Electricity Cost Calculator

Estimate the monthly running cost of an appliance from its wattage and usage.

How this is calculated
Monthly cost = (Wattage ÷ 1000) × Hours/day × Days/month × Rate/unit

Assumptions used in this calculation

  • Constant load: Assumes the appliance draws its full rated wattage continuously for the entire usage period, with no variation from cycling (e.g. thermostats, compressors).
  • Flat tariff: Uses a single flat rate per unit; it does not model slab-based/tiered electricity pricing or time-of-day tariffs.
