About this calculator
Car lease payments are quoted using terminology that doesn't map cleanly to a normal loan, a 'money factor' instead of an interest rate, a 'residual value' instead of a payoff amount, which makes it hard to verify whether a dealer's quoted monthly payment is actually fair without redoing their math yourself. This calculator applies the same two-part formula dealers use: a depreciation fee, (capitalized price − residual value) ÷ term, covering the vehicle's expected value loss over the lease, plus a finance fee, (capitalized price + residual value) × money factor, covering the cost of financing, then adds sales tax to arrive at your total monthly payment. Breaking the payment into these two components, rather than a single opaque monthly figure, lets you see exactly how much you're paying for depreciation versus financing, and check a dealer's quote against the underlying numbers before signing.
Worked example
₹30,00,000 car, ₹16,50,000 residual, 0.0025 money factor, 36-month term
Result: Monthly payment ≈ ₹49,850 before tax
