Formula v1.0.0IndiaMethodologyReport an issuein-hand-salary-v1
How this is calculated
Net salary = CTC − employer PF − employee PF − professional tax − income tax (new regime)

Assumptions used in this calculation

  • EPF contribution: Both employer and employee EPF contributions are assumed to be 12% of basic salary, with no wage ceiling applied.India · Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Government of India
  • Professional tax: A flat ₹2,400/year professional tax is assumed; actual state slabs vary.India

About this calculator

An offer letter's CTC figure is not what lands in your bank account each month, it bundles in employer PF contributions and other components you never directly receive as cash, while your actual take-home is further reduced by your own PF deduction, professional tax and income tax, layers that are easy to underestimate when mentally dividing CTC by 12. This calculator starts from your annual CTC and the share allocated to basic salary, then subtracts employer and employee EPF contributions, professional tax, and income tax computed under the new regime, arriving at an estimated monthly in-hand figure. It follows the standard simplified structure most Indian salary calculators use, so while your actual payslip will vary with your employer's specific CTC breakup (bonuses, LTA, meal cards and more), this gives a realistic starting estimate for budgeting or comparing job offers before you have the exact salary structure in hand.

Worked example

₹12,00,000 CTC, 40% basic salary

Result: Estimated in-hand salary ≈ ₹84,990/month
