How is the life path number calculated?

Sum every digit of your birth date, then keep reducing the sum by adding its digits together until you reach a single digit (1-9) or a master number (11, 22 or 33), which is left unreduced.

What is the name number and how does it differ from the life path number?

The name number applies the Pythagorean letter-to-number system (A=1, B=2, ... I=9, then repeating) to your full name and reduces the total the same way. The life path number instead comes purely from your birth date, the two are calculated independently.
