Flashcard Review Schedule Calculator

Get suggested spaced-repetition review dates starting from when you first learn a card.

Formula v1.0.0GlobalMethodologyReport an issueflashcard-review-schedule-v1
How this is calculated
Each interval ≈ previous interval × 2 (simplified spaced repetition)

Assumptions used in this calculation

  • Simplified spaced repetition: Real spaced-repetition apps like Anki adjust intervals per-card based on your recall performance, this gives a simplified fixed-doubling schedule as a starting guide.

About this calculator

Spaced repetition works because reviewing information right before you'd naturally forget it strengthens memory far more efficiently than cramming everything at once, but figuring out exactly when those review points should fall without dedicated software is tedious to track by hand. This calculator starts from your first review interval and doubles it each time, a simplified but widely used approximation of how spaced-repetition intervals grow, to generate a sequence of suggested review days from now, so a 1-day starting interval produces checkpoints at day 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. It's not adaptive to your actual recall performance the way apps like Anki are, which shorten or lengthen intervals per-card based on whether you remembered correctly, but it gives you a sensible fixed schedule to follow for flashcards you're studying manually, on paper, or outside a dedicated spaced-repetition app.
