About this calculator
New puppy owners are often desperate to know how big their dog will eventually get, especially with a mixed-breed rescue where there's no pedigree chart to consult, but puppy growth isn't linear so simply guessing from current size can be badly misleading. This calculator uses a simplified proportional growth model, assuming a puppy reaches roughly full size by around 52 weeks, and scales the current weight up based on how many weeks old the puppy is now, to produce a ballpark adult weight estimate. It's meant as a rough, quick sanity check rather than a precise prediction, since actual growth curves vary enormously between a toy breed that matures by 9 months and a giant breed that keeps filling out until nearly age two, but it beats trying to eyeball final size from a wriggly 16-week-old puppy with oversized paws.
