Every social platform enforces its own preferred aspect ratio for posts, stories and covers, and images that don't match get auto-cropped in unpredictable ways, cutting off faces or text without warning. This calculator takes the platform and post type you select — like an Instagram post, story, or a Facebook cover photo — along with a known width, and multiplies that width by the platform's standard ratio (height ÷ width) to tell you exactly what height to design or crop your image to. Rather than looking up each platform's exact pixel dimensions separately or guessing at a ratio and hoping it isn't auto-cropped after upload, this gives the correct target height instantly for whatever width you're working with, whether you're exporting from a design tool at a custom size or cropping an existing photo.
