About this calculator
When a class does poorly on a test, instructors sometimes curve scores so the format doesn't unfairly punish everyone, and one of the most common approaches is bumping the highest score in the class up to 100 and adding that same number of points to everyone else's raw score. This calculator applies that method directly: it subtracts the highest score from 100 to find the point boost, then adds that boost to your own raw score to show your curved result. It saves you from doing the subtraction and addition yourself while waiting to hear how a curve will be applied, though it's worth remembering this is only one of several curving methods instructors use, others like square-root curving or a fixed percentage bump produce different results, so check with your instructor on which method actually applies to your class before assuming this is your final grade.
