About this calculator

The lighting lux calculator multiplies a room's area by the target illuminance (lux) to get total lumens required, then divides by each fixture's rated lumen output to estimate how many fixtures you need.

Worked example

150 sqft living room at 150 lux, 1200 lm fixtures

Result: Fixtures needed ≈ 2
