About this calculator
Passport and visa applications get rejected surprisingly often over photo sizing, since every country sets its own precise dimensions, background rules and head-size proportions, and a photo printed to the wrong specification simply won't be accepted. This calculator takes your destination country and a target print resolution (DPI), then returns the required photo width and height in both millimetres and pixels, along with how many photos fit on a standard print sheet. Instead of hunting through a government website for a specification buried in a PDF and then manually converting millimetres to pixels for a digital upload, you get the exact numbers immediately for whichever country you select. The pixel conversion uses the standard formula of dividing millimetres by 25.4 and multiplying by DPI, which matters most when a photo must be submitted online rather than printed at a photo studio.
